We are delighted to share that our Principal Investigator, Dr. M. M. Hasan, has been promoted to Associate Professor in the recent Syndicate meeting of the University of Chittagong held on 01 August 2025.
Dr. Hasan completed his PhD in Drug Discovery at King’s College London under the supervision of Professor Miraz Rahman, where his research focused on developing next-generation therapeutics.
With this milestone, Dr. Hasan is now setting his vision towards establishing a state-of-the-art Drug Discovery Laboratory at the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Chittagong. The lab will integrate synthetic chemistry, microbiology, cell biology, and structural biology to accelerate the development of new treatments addressing cancer and antimicrobial resistance.
This achievement not only reflects Dr. Hasan’s dedication and excellence in research but also marks an exciting step forward for the department’s growing contribution to cutting-edge biomedical research in Bangladesh.
